DILG Warns Individuals Illegally Selling Vac-Cards to Face Imprisonment
The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has warned those individuals who will be caught illegally selling vac-cards will face imprisonment.
According to Director Police Major General Albert Ignatius Ferro, people who sold phony COVID-19 immunization cards might face a prison sentence ranging from six months to two years under the Revised Penal Code. Following accusations of falsified cards being sold to unvaccinated people, he clarified that falsification of documentation was banned.

According to Ferro, the DILG would intensify its campaign to foil individuals who falsify immunization cards, which is illegal. A private individual who falsifies documents could face a fine of up to P5,000 in addition to jail term under Article 172.
“‘Yung sa pekeng vaccination card ay paiigtingin natin yung pagsawata sa mga nananamantala dahil yan ay punishable ng batas,” he said.
Police recently arrested a sari-sari store proprietor in North Caloocan for selling fraudulent vaccination cards rather than his regular store merchandise. He was apprehended over the weekend after an entrapment operation, according to the Caloocan city authorities.
According to authorities, the suspect was selling a vaccination card to an undercover cop for P500. The computer used to create the phony vaccination cards, as well as other fraudulent replicas of vaccination cards, were seized from the suspect.
Aside from that, Ferro said the CIDG was on the watch for anyone selling unauthorized and overpriced COVID-19 drugs like tocilizumab and remdesivir around the country. Several people have been caught recently for selling COVID-19 drugs illegally.
