Police Arrest 270 “Sabongeros” Crowding in Parañaque for Online Sabong Event
Police authorities issued violation tickets against 270 “sabongeros” who were caught crowding in Parañaque for an online sabong event.
Hundreds of people were detected breaking physical distance limits inside a cockpit arena in Paraaque’s Barangay Tambo. According to the cops According to Parañaque City Police Chief Col. Max Sebastian, they received information that a large crowd was gathered near the Roligon Mega Cockpit Arena on Quirino Avenue.

The cops arrived at the scene from a neighboring substation to undertake the operation after verifying the report. They discovered an online cockfighting event when they arrived at the reported location.
The cockpit was erected inside the arena by the studio. The 270 persons trapped inside and waiting to be let in were not evacuated. This group includes merchants as well as spectators of the activity.
The proprietor of the company that runs the online cockfight did not have a valid license, according to police, therefore it was shut down. The owner told the cops that the activity was only a practice run and that they had a PAGCOR authorization.
Under Alert Level 4, cockfighting and other forms of gambling are forbidden unless authorized by the IATF or the President’s Office. Those caught there were given official infraction receipts and sent home.
According to Sebastian, the penalties for breaking Paraaque’s health guidelines have been raised to P1,000 for the first violation, P3,000 for the second offense, and P5,000 for the third offense.
