Staff of QC Congresswoman Under Probe Over Cash Aid Corruption Complaint
The name of Quezon City (QC) congresswoman Precious Hipolito-Castelo has been called after staff allegedly involved in cash aid corruption.
Thousands of beneficiaries of the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) TUPAD (tulong panghanapbuhay sa ating displaced workers) program in Barangay Holy Spirit complained that they did not receive enough aid, putting Congresswoman Hipolito-Castelo in hot water.

According to barangay staffer, Carol Can and also one of the recipients, aid from the DOLE’s TUPAD program, should be worth P7,518. However, it was cut by P5,518 and all that was left for her was P2,000.
On the other hand, resident Anniecris Celestino said that she only received P2,000. Congresswoman Castelo’s campaign held many meetings for the distribution of DOLE aid from May to July, according to their joint statement.
The congressman’s staff, however, were immediately waiting at remittance service centers to deduct the massive sum after they were contacted back when the aid arrived. Congresswoman Castelo’s camp quickly admitted that they had an employee named Jackie Sales.
According to Atty., sales is one of the complainants who cut off their ostensible aid, and they will cut it off immediately. The Castelos’ legal attorney, Joey Boy Blando. According to Atty Blando, the Castelos would not allow any wrongdoing, especially when it comes to assisting those who are suffering as a result of the pandemic.
He went on to say that if Sales is found guilty of cash aid corruption, he will be removed from office immediately and punished according to the law. Those who were also implicated in the anomaly, according to Atty. Blando, would be punished.
