This is what pushed Raymond Gutierrez to come out as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.
RAYMOND GUTIERREZ – Famous personality Raymond Gutierrez comes out as a gay and this is the reason that pushed him to finally come out to the public.
What is seemingly like a speculation even before, famous host Raymond Gutierrez finally put an end to this and officially came out as a gay. There were already hints about his preference and the public might already have an idea about it but after a long time, he courageously confirmed the idea.
In any situation or condition that it could have been, there’s no easy way to come out as there will always be judgment coming from anyone but finally braving out the criticisms that might be put up against him, he finally admitted his reality. In his interview with Mega, he shared that he had some realizations during the pandemic. He realized that life is short and from that point, he learned to live it and to come out is one of the ways.
Mond added that he is already out to the people close to him and he has nothing but gratitude because of the amount of love ans support he has received from them. He expressed, “Some people feel alone, some people feel like they don’t have anyone to run to. I’m lucky that I’m surrounded with a lot of great people in my life my family, my friends.”
He grew up in confusion because he can see his difference with his twin brother Richard Gutierrez who is straight and someone who does not need to go through in the same phase. He was in doubt and what added to his depression and self-destruction are the words he can hear from the people around him. He grew up in the eyes of the public and his family is prominent in the industry which added to his doubts about himself.
He can hear from people around him, ‘Ah, ‘ di ba ‘yun ‘yung baklang kapatid ni Richard?’ Such a label has “kind of diminish” what he can possibly offer because of his preference. He admitted that it was tough at that time and said, “So, that was kind of like the burden that I was carrying? Like, I can’t be gay because my brother is a superhero, right? So, that was… Well, it’s tough for me.”
And in the interview, he realized that he came out not just for the sake of it but to set an example to other people and show them that they are not alone. He stated, “I think it’s more important than ever just because I want to be an example to the next generation who are struggling, who are feeling suppressed to take time in finding themselves and being happy with themselves. For me, it’s—sexuality is just one aspect of who you are. It doesn’t define who you are.”
