During a joint raid, police, the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), and the Rural Health Unit (RHU) discovered used surgical gloves in four apartment units, some of which reportedly had signs of dried blood and medication.
The incident resulted in the arrest of two people. One of the suspects told ABS-CBN that he had no idea where the used surgical gloves came from.
He said he was just asked to dispose of it in his apartment by a friend. The surgical gloves will be recycled and melted, according to the suspect.
However, Tanza MENRO stated that such an occurrence is particularly concerning, and that we are in the midst of a pandemic. These forms of waste must be handled first before being disposed of in the appropriate bin.
