Toni Gonzaga on looking back at her two decades in show business
Actress-host Toni Gonzaga who has been in the entertainment industry and did various TV and movie projects but still admitted that she is feeling insecure.
This year, Toni marks her two decades in showbiz. In an interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda, she recalled the failure and triumph she experienced from the time she was starting her career as an actress.
When she transferred to ABS-CBN, her first interview was with Tito Boy. In that interview, Toni shared the valuable lesson she learned.
“What I learned from that interview is to never let your emotions talk for you,” she declared. You will learn along the way that when you’re being interviewed, you have to separate your emotions as much as possible because you will truly get overwhelmed,” Toni Gonzaga said.
Previously, she shared the most devastating year that happened to her and her family. It was in 2000 when many tragic events happened in her life. However, after a year of life-struggling events, Toni found the light at the end of the tunnel.
Her career bloomed after she was casted as the girl who shouted in a softdrink commercial “I love you, Piolo!” Although it was not yet a smooth-sailing journey for her career after the advertisement project, that opened new opportunities for her.
Now, after 20 years, after she has proven her star quality, Toni Gonzaga admitted that she still feels insecure. She said that this feeling keeps her grounded.
“Am I still good enough to do this? Am I still capable of doing this? Should I still be doing this? There are always questions (in my head). I think you will never get to the point of, ‘I’m so secure of myself,’ because the moment you feel you know you have it all, is the moment when you stop learning,” the actress-host said.
