The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) hold a series on “Diskwento Caravan”s in Samar and Leyte to offer basic goods at discounted prices and help stabilize the food supply in areas affected by Yolanda. DTI have been doing the project for the past few days but some netizens aired their negative comments on the project.

A news report from GMA-7’s 24 Oras got the attention and received negative comments from netizens after it was shared on Facebook, particularly the anti-government page “Showbiz Government.”
One of the Diskwento Caravan was conducted at Tacloban City on Friday, news report of GMA7 continues to rake in more views with some netizens posting their negative comments with the DTI’s project.
According to DTI, the Diskwento Caravans has already been held in Ormoc City, Maasim City and Baybay City in Leyte as well as Calbayog City and Catbalogan City in Samar.
Mr. Asteria Caberte, DTI regional director for Central Visayas said that through the caravans, the department is helping replenish local supply of goods to stabilize the situation in provinces affected by typhoon Yolanda. Products in the caravan by DTI includes bottled water, canned goods, coffee, milk, noodles, rice, biscuits, bread, condiments and personal care products.
