Senator Panfilo Lacson is now facing the media

Senator Panfilo Lacson was hiding for 14 months due to his charges in court so Justice Secretary ‘Leila de Lima’ wants an explanation from him. The Secretary truly believes that he must further explain the reasons why he is nowhere to be found for that several months.

According to de Lima the people must know why was he able to get out of the country with his p(–foul word(s) removed–)port being cancelled. It was already beyond him and the integrity of the processes and system in our country will be questionable. The senator really owes explanation to the public.

De Lima will be having a decision if she is going to order a reinvestigation of the ‘Dacer-Corbito’ case.

She also said that sustaining Lacson’s charges, the actions of the public prosecutors of the panel were aboveboard, opposing to Lacson’s claim that the State Prosecutor  and a also a member of the panel ‘Hazel Valdez’ pushed the former police ‘Senior Superintendent Cezar Mancao II’ to testify against Lacson.

As de Lima reviewed the case, Valdez or any of the other prosecutors have no indications that they had committed perjury.

“I could never see at least among the prosecutors involved directly in the case like ‘Prosecutor ‘Hazel Valdez’ and Peter Ong’’ “To my (–foul word(s) removed–)sment, they were just fulfilling their duties as state prosecutors,” she exclaimed.

When ‘Hazel Valdez’ was sent to the United State last February 2009 to take Mancao’s affidavit implicating Lacson in the double-murder case, he questioned it.

de Lima said that Valdez already explained that it was  in the ’Internal Memorandum’ and was already submitted last month.

While in the United States, Valdez was in accordance with her duties as a state prosecutor for the affidavit of Mancao.
