Update on Christine Dacera Amid NBI Probe
CHRISTINE DACERA CASE – Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra gave an update on the investigation of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Currently, the authorities are not yet done with their investigations on the death of Christine Angelica Dacera. The Philippine National Police (PNP) has already submitted their medico-legal report while the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is still probing the incident.
Dacera was found dead in a bathtub in a Makati City hotel last January 1, 2021. She checked in to City Garden Grand Hotel together with her friends for the New Year celebration.
According to the companions of Dacera, they had hard drinks. They also played some parlor games with some occupants of a nearby room after a common friend introduced them to each other.
The autopsy on the body of Christine Dacera determined ruptured aortic aneurysm as the cause of the death of the 23-year-old flight attendant. Her family is not convinced with the results of the autopsy citing the bruises in her body.

The PNP medico-legal report also determined ruptured aortic aneurysm as the cause of Dacera’s death. Currently, the Dacera family awaits the result of the investigation of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Recently, DOJ Secretary Menardo Guevarra gave an update on the investigation of the NBI on the Christine Dacera case. Based on a report on GMA News, the PNP will share the evidences they gathered with the NBI.
“PNP will share its evidence (specimens, garments, mobile phones) with the NBI on Monday; the NBI will complete and finalize its report soon thereafter,” the DOJ Secretary said based on the report.
According to the DOJ Secretary, after the NBI will get the pieces of evidence from the PNP, it may finish the investigation within the week. The final report will be submitted the to the Justice Department.
