Jasmine Curtis Air Dismay to People Spreading Pirated Copy of Her Movie with Glaiza
Kapuso actress Jasmine Curtis Smith air disappointment and slammed the people who spread the pirated copy of her movie with Glaiza de Castro.
Kapuso actress was dismayed after learning that her new film “Midnight In A Perfect World” with Glaiza was also victimized by piracy. According to Jasmine, it is a crime and a clear theft that syndicates are making illegal reproduction of Filipino films that are now being released on online and digital platforms.
Because of this, Anne Curtis’ sister called for a stricter law against film piracy to stop this kind of crime that kills the movie industry. She said the Philippines should emulate the intensified campaign against piracy of films and other content of the entertainment industry abroad.
“I hope dumating sa point na ganu’n ka-advanced ‘yung tech natin dito or at least the system that we have. Kasi it’s difficult na nga na makakuha kami ng sinehan nu’ng panahon na puwede pang manood sa sine. Eh, paano na ngayon na everything’s on streaming?” Jasmine said.
“Kung kukunin niyo pa ‘yung only opportunity na nga ng filmmakers at ng mga tao sa industriya ng pelikula at ng TV, paano pa kayo makakapag-expect ng bagong content in the future kung walang naiipon na pera? Kung walang kinikita na pera ang entertainment industry natin dito?” she added
Jasmine said that it will fickle out one day and it will be much more difficult to produce content if fellow countrymen do not support the local content. Following this, the Kapuso actress also called for the hope that those who work in the entertainment industry will also be paid correctly.
“The same way na kapag pinalayas ‘yung mga taong nagpa-pirate ng mga pelikula at ng mga teleserye, sila rin, you know, the money that you get from that can go towards the film industry somehow, maybe one day it could pay it forward with the film industry,” she explained.
