The De La Salle University Green Archers defeated the University of Sto. Tomas Growling Tigers with the final score at 71-69 in overtime. La Salle’s Jeron Teng led the scoring for the Green Archers as they successfully captured the championship title which they won last 2006.

During the first half of the game the UST Tigers were leading with the score at 32-24 in a low scoring first half. The gate attendance at the Mall of Asia Arena was also the highest gate attendance in the history to the UAAP with a total of 23, 305 spectators.

The DLSU Green Archers trailed by double-digits in the third quarter before getting back against the Growling Tigers dream of capturing the title. The younger Jeron Teng of La Salle spoils the dream of his older brother Jeric Teng who is playing for his last year in the UAAP Men’s basketball championship.
The UAAP Finals MVP was given to Jeron Teng the Rookie of the year last season. Jeron Teng is now on his sophomore year in the UAAP.
