2 Saudi Nationals With Suspected Links To ISIS Arrested In Cotabato City

COTABATO CITY – 2 Saudi nationals with alleged links to international terrorist group ISIS were recently nabbed in Cotabato City.

According to a report from GMA News’ Balitambayan, retrieved from the suspects were an improvised explosive device or IED along with several components used in making IEDs.

The suspects were apprehended by 19 authorities who conducted a search warrant on the suspects’ room following a warrant that was issued by Judge Allan Edwin P. Boncavil Isulan, Sultan Kudarat Regional Trial Court Branch.

The police reported that the two are associated with ISIS-East Asia subleaders who are attempting to bring Arab nationals to the Philippines.

Based on the report, also retrieved from the suspects aside from the improvised explosive device were five assorted passports, one alien certificate of registration, two passbooks of savings account, a laptop, cellphones and credit cards.

In another report, two members of the Abu Sayyaf group were slain in separate gunfights against government troops in Sulu.

Among the slain members were one alleged to be the sub-leader of the said group while the other one identified as a member.

The ASG sub-leader was slain in the first encounter in Panamao town, Sulu. The encounter lasted long for 30 minutes.
