Wonder Woman 1984 is set to be released
Actress Gal Gadot happily announced through her Instagram post that it is time for Wonder Woman 1984 to be released.
This will be the second movie of Gadot playing the superhero. “IT’S TIME. We’ve all waited a long time for this one to come,” she said in her post. The actress also said that she is excited that everyone can finally see it.
Gadot shared that it was not an easy decision for them as they had to hold onto the release date because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the delay and the apprehensions, the actress said that fans can soon watch the movie.
“We’ve put our hearts and souls into it. So.. you can watch it IN THEATERS (they’re doing an amazing job keeping it safe) and you can also watch it on HBOMAX from your homes,” she said.
Based on the article from Variety, Wonder Woman 1984 will be released on December 25. On the same day, it will open in movie theaters in the U.S.
For countries where the service of HBO Max is not available, the movie will be released in cinemas a week before its official premiere in the US and that would be on December 16.
The sequel will continue the story during the Cold War as the Amazonian warrior battles two formidable enemies and they are Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) and Cheetah (Kristen Wiig). She will be reunited also with her past love, Steve Trevor (Chris Pine). Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen are also included in the cast.
Wonder Woman is one of the rare comic book movies that features a woman as the main character. Nevertheless, this not hinder its success when Gal Gadot first portrayed the titular role in 2017.
Records stated that it has earned more than $800 million at the global box office.
