Cagayan Governor Eyes to Suspend Christmas Caroling
Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba is planning to ban the caroling for Christmas season to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Governor Mamba eyes to suspend the traditional house-to-house caroling in the country, which has been a culture of Filipino culture and tradition throughout the decades. The plan aims to prevent the spread of the disease during the Christmas season.
Mamba said that the children who were roaming around the streets to sing Christmas carols in numerous houses might be exposed to the disease by facing infected individuals from the community.
The politician’s plan is in line with the guideline released by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) of prohibiting children to remain outside their house especially during curfew hours.
Manuel also said that the regional IATF would release guidelines for adults who would go on caroling for the Yuletide season to prevent the transmission of the coronavirus disease.
