Globe Finally Gets Permits From LGU For Cell Sites
GLOBE FINALLY GETS LGU PERMITS – Globe Telecom finally received clearance from various LGUs to establish cell sites across the Philippines.
Recently, DITO has made moves and has established cell towers across the Philippines. Along with this, the third new player in the Philippines’ telco industry also offered outstanding speeds at insanely low prices.
Meanwhile, it feels like one of the biggest service providers in the Philippines, Globe Telecom, is playing catch-up in their own game. For years, subscribers have complained about low internet speeds and constant loss of connectivity.
This was primarily due to Globe not having enough cell towers to accommodate millions of users at the same time. But, with the permits finally being given to Globe, we could expect potentially faster speeds as bandwidth allocation and signal strength improves across the country.
According to an article from Inquirer, Globe has secured 26 permits from from areas such as Sto. Domingo, Agoo and Vigan in Ilocus Sur, and Sto. Tomas and Batangas City in Batangas. Furthermore, Globe also got permits to build towers in Toledo, Cebu, and areas in Mindanao such as Butuan City in Agusan Del Norte; Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur and Cagayan De Oro City in Misamis Oriental.
As per the article, Globe Senior Vice President Joel Agustin stated:
As we have pointed out many times in the past, Globe is an ally of LGUs, especially during this time of the pandemic, as they look for ways to better serve their constituents in the new normal
