In a video uploaded by a concerned netizen named Tiffy Ang, a delivery guy was caught sorting the packages on a sidewalk in Quezon City amid the threat of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
As seen in the video, the man was taking out the packages from a white delivery van and tossing them on the sidewalk along with other packages. According to Tiffy, she recorded the video because she was concerned about the handling of the packages this time of crisis.
Tiffy said in an interview with GMA News, “That’s alarming kasi number one, okay lang sana if sabihin na natin maliit lang talaga ‘yung space ng van niya for sorting. Pero ‘yung walang latag, walang anything to protect the parcel to the ground eh, syempre kalsada ‘yun. Syempre you could expect na may mga tao na I mean, ‘yung dumi.”
Based on the report, after she posted the pictures and video on social media, three of her personally known people revealed that they have also encountered similar handling of packages. Prior to the incident, her parents had also seen the same earlier this month.

Meanwhile, “Lazada thanks the public for bringing this to our attention. We are looking into the situation and the necessary actions will be taken to ensure strict health and safety protocols are adhered to according to local authorities and guidelines,” the company said.
“At Lazada, we believe that it takes a vigilant community to help maintain a safe and secure online shopping experience for all,” it added.
