Although it was a traumatic event, Kim chose to proceed to her taping which garnered admiration from many due to her professionalism. However, that became a point for bashers to accused that the ambush was staged. former journalist Jay Sonza called it “isang malaking drawing“.

During the June 27 episode of Judy Ann Santos’s program titled Paano Kita Mapapasalamatan on Jeepney TV, Kim reiterated that she would not risk her life.

Dyusko naman, itataya ko ba naman yung buhay ko? Ang dami ko pang kapatid, pamangkin. Reaksiyon pa nila ay hindi sila naniniwala,” the Chinita Princess said. She added that people should not think that it was fake just because no one died. The actress also said that she was afraid because she has done nothing wrong.

Two months after that, on May 8, another entry in Kim Chiu Controversies was listed. It was because of her viral “sa classroom may batas” during an online protest of Kapamilya stars after ABS-CBN signed off. Eventually, netizens made that statement into a song.

Initially, the Chinita Princess also found her statement funny however, she admitted that she got affected by the overflowing bashing that she received especially from those who are calling her mean words.

Behind the bashing, Kim bounced back and recorded a full-length song from her viral statement. Then, she came up with her own Bawal Lumabas merchandise for her fund-raising campaign.

With this, Kim said that she thought of leaving the country. “Di ba, parang sunud-sunod? Walang hingahan. So wala, naisip ko, punta na lang ako Canada. ‘Okay na tayo, tara na, alis na tayo sa mundong… sa Pilipinas, ang gulu-gulo,’ ganyan-ganyan,”she shared.

She also shared that after releasing her Bawal Lumabas song, the actress said that she restored her confidence after the bashing that she received.

“But at the end of the day, bumalik yung tiwala ko sa sarili ko. Kasi lahat naman sa buhay natin, trials. Wala namang buhay na puro sarap lang. So, yun, it’s a sweet victory,” Kim Chiu said.
