ABS-CBN SHUT DOWN – #WeNeedABSCBN has been trending and many people expressed their support and reasons why they need the network.

In a previous article, the network’s President and CEO Carlo Katigbak expressed fear that if they are not able to air again by August, they might consider laying off some of their employees. This is because of their huge daily losses in their advertising revenues amounting Php 30 – Php 35 million daily.

A lot of issues has then transpired coming from their alleged tax evasion down to unfair labor practice and foreign ownership violations. But this has all been cleared by the network. They are currently under process for another franchise renewal but it seems like everything’s shaky for the network.

With their millions of loyal viewers and supporters, the hashtag “#WeNeedABSCBN” is trending online as of this posting. This is like a form of online protest from the netizens and this is where they have also expressed why they need the Kapamilya network to return.

Check out some of the reasons of the people:

I wouldn’t know KathNiel if it weren’t for ABS-CBN.

ABS CBN has been part of my life.

Grew up with ABSCBN programs like a lot of us 80’s kids.
