Man Who Wounded ECQ Volunnteer In Cebu City Shot To Death

CEBU CITY – A man who wounded an ECQ volunteer at a checkpoint in Cebu City was recently shot to death on morning, May 18 (Monday).

The incident took place at Sitio Puntod Alaska, Brgy. Mambaling, according to a report from Sunstar.

The victim was identified as John Muraña from Sitio Naba in the said barangay, said PMsgt. Nicolo Gonzales, chief investigator of the Mambaling Police Station.

Muraña was declared dead on arrival at the hospital where he was brought by medical personnel.

Police probe shows that a witness who was on his e-bike heard multiple shots when the incident happened. Muraña was found lying on the ground.

As per the report, the police discovered that the fatality was the culprit who injured an ECQ volunteer, identified as Jopith Conol, aged 34, who denied him entry when he was said to have wanted to buy shabu.

The police are currently probing further to determine the identity of the assailant.
