Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson Series Currently In Development At Disney+
PERCY JACKSON – New York Times bestselling author Rick Riordan announced that Disney Plus is developing his book series.
American author Ric Riordan’s fantasy adventure novel ‘Percy Jackson’ has sold more than 69 million copies in more than 35 countries. In 2011, his 5 supplementary books joined the list of The New York Times Best Seller.
In 2010, Riordan’s first book was adapted into a movie titled ‘Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.’ The film adaptation of his second book ‘Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters‘ was released in 2013. His book and movie have garnered millions of young fans from different countries around the world.
Rick Riordan’s book follows the life of a teenage demigod named Percy Jackson. His life gets more complicated when he discovered that he is the son of Greek God Poseidon.
Recently, the best-selling author and his wife Becky made an announcement of his Facebook and Twitter accounts. They said the books are getting a live-action tv series on Disney Plus.
The author didn’t reveal any additional details on the upcoming series but he assured their fans that he and his wife “will be involved in person in every aspect of the show.”
“We can’t say much more at this stage but we are very excited about the idea of a live-action series of the highest quality, following the storyline of the original Percy Jackson five-book series, starting with The Lightning Thief in season one. Rest assured that Becky & I will be involved in person in every aspect of the show. There will be much more news in the future, but for now, we have a lot of work to do! Buckle up, demigods. It’s going to be a fantastic, exciting ride!” he wrote.
