14 More Metro Manila Cops Tested Positive For COVID-19
MANILA COPS POSITIVE FOR COVID-19 – An additional 14 cops tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections to 47.
According to National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Maj. Gen. Debold Subas the tests were took on April 25. Afterward, the result were released on Thursday.
Based on a report from Inquirer, four out of the 320 police frontliners were positive for the virus. Meanwhile, 10 non-commissioned officers tested positive for the coronavirus.
This is the very reason why we are pursuing testing for all our frontliners. We understand that the risk of contamination is high because of the nature of our work.
Meanwhile, Sinas assured the public they are initiating efforts to continue to provide necessary protection. Furthermore, Sinas stated that the officers are now under quarantine at the Hinirang Hall of the Quezon City Police District.
Additionally, he ordered all NCRPO officers who made contact with the COVID-19 positive police to undergo quarantine as well. Moreover, the unit’s Regional and District Health Service were also ordered to monitor the infected cops.
As per the report, Sinas stated that the NCRPO had begun contact tracing. Along with this, he said the NCRPO would conduct a “target group” testing on each and every NCRPO personnel.

Currently, the Philippines had recorded a total of 10,343 cases of COVID-19. Of this number, 685 have succumbed to the disease. Meanwhile, 1,618 patients have recovered from the deadly virus.
