UAE Sends Tons Of Medical Supplies To PH In Fight Against Coronavirus
UAE – The Philippine government received tons of medical supplies from the United Arab Emirates.
Governments around the world currently fight an invisible enemy. The 2019 novel coronavirus has caused the death of hundreds of thousands of people and infected more than 3 million people across the globe.
In the Philippines, health officials, politicians, billionaires, and celebrities are doing their best to provide the needs of the frontliners and the families affected by the pandemic.
In a previous article, fighting senator Manny Pacquiao said Chinese business tycoon Jack Ma told him that he will be donating 50K additional test kits to the Philippines. In March, the businessman already donated boxes of test kits to help the Filipinos fight COVID-19.
Aside from test kits, the country also needs lots of medical supplies for health care workers. Frontliners need these to bolster the country’s efforts to contain the spread of the deadly virus.
A reporter from Inquirer Tweeted that the United Arab Emirates sent medical supplies to the country to help fight against the coronavirus. He said in the caption that an aid plane carries seven (7) metric tons of medical supplies for the Filipino frontliners.
Based on a report from Reliefweb, UAE Ambassador Hamad Saeed Al Zaabi released a statement regarding the aid delivery to the Philippines. He said they hoped that the supplies would help the COVID-19 frontliners.
“Through the provision of critical medical aid, the UAE affirms its commitment to offering a helping hand to the Philippines. Our two countries share a deep partnership between our governments and peoples, and it is our sincere hope that such assistance enables the Philippines to take the necessary action to defend itself against COVID-19…”
“The UAE stands in solidarity with all nations working to contain and confront the COVID-19 pandemic,” he added.
