UP makes announcements regarding UPCAT 2020 Results
The University of the Philippines (UP) targets to release the UPCAT 2020 Results this month of May after it was postponed due to the enhanced community quarantine.
Previously, the results of the UP College Admission Test was scheduled to be released on March 30. However, as the whole Philippines was under the health crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic the original date was moved.
In line with the postponement, UP stated two reasons:
- Applicants will have different levels of access to online results in light of the Enhanced Community Quarantine
- There’s a need to suspend UPCAT processing after 16 March in consideration of the welfare of the large team of employees working on the pre-release validation of UPCAT results — who live in various locations within and at the outskirts of Metro Manila.
A recent statement from the official website of UP stated that the institution is targeting to release the UPCAT 2020 results this month. “The Office of Admissions, like all other units and offices in the University of the Philippines, has had to adapt by operating with only a tiny fraction of its workforce to complete the necessary validation procedures and the final computations of results for over 100,000 UPCAT examinees,” the statement said.
Despite this situation, UP said that the Office of Admissions continues to do the best service for those who took the test. The statement also reminded the the public not to rely on other information aside from the released by the UP Office of Admission.
“Refrain from sharing misleading information through social media in order not to exacerbate the anxiety of our UPCAT applicants,” the statement also said.
