OFW From Japan Breaks Quarantine, Has Heated Conversation With Authorities
OFW FROM JAPAN BREAKS QUARANTINE – As a precaution against COVID-19, the government required a 14-day quarantine for those coming from abroad.
This measure is not only present in the Philippines but in other countries as well. Previously, it was studied that the coronavirus could have an incubation period of 14 days, thus, the mandated quarantine.
However, in a video posted by Trending 101, an OFW from Japan broke the protocol and refused to go under quarantine. In the video, the woman was said to have bought rice outside their barangay.
As such, the authorities were alerted that an OFW had failed to adhere to quarantine protocols. Following this, the authorities went to her house and pleaded with her to undergo a 14-day quarantine.
However, the OFW furiously refused and cited that they were not sick. In the video, you could hear her say that if she was sick, she would rather stay in Japan where there is better healthcare.
Afterward, the woman told the authorities that she would rather go to jail than to be quarantined. She said that if she was in jail, she could be given free food.
Moreover, she emphasized that when the test that would come back that she’s negative for the virus, she would sue the people who jailed her.
But, things escalated quickly when a man that seemed to be her relative went to talk to her. The man was screaming at the top of his lungs that the OFW should adhere to the protocol.
Then, the woman, furious, told the man that the moment she came back to Japan, she would forget about everyone in the Philippines.
