Abby Binay Orders Medicines Delivery Amid COVID-19 Threat
Makati Mayor Abby Binay ordered that medicines will be delivered at the resident’s doorsteps amid coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) threat.
Due to the enhanced quarantine community (ECQ) declared by the President Duterte to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the country, authorities started to implement stricter rules and regulations in order to prevent the continued spread of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Public transportation is suspended and other businesses are closed, but essential businesses such as drug store and grocery store are still open to public. Everyone is also advised to stay at home for a month or so as much as possible.
Meanwhile, Makati City residents will no longer have to line up and queue for a long period of time because Makati Mayor Abby Binay has ordered the delivery of these items to their doorsteps.
Based on the report of Politiko Metro Manila, this aims to discourage residents leaving their homes amid enhance community quarantine due to the threat of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), Mayor Binay said.
Residents will only need to provide a document to city hall staff at the health centers. They will buy the medicine and deliver it.
Binay added that residents who are given a prescription following the check-ups will give their medical documents to city hall staff at the health centers. Staff will be the one who will buy the medicine and deliver it to you.
Meanwhile, senior citizens who are receiving maintenance medicines from the city government will have three months’ worth of medicines supply delivered to them by city hall personnel.
Earlier, Binay ordered the distribution of food packs and financial assistance to tricycle and jeepney drivers, as well as solo parents and students who are affected of the ongoing enhanced community quarantine.
