The Philippine Azkals or the Philippine National Football Team will be battling against Cambodia for their first game in the AFC Challenge Cup Qualifier after their first game was forfeited by Brunei giving the Philippines a three points in the competition.
The Azkals wanted to show their might on their home court at the Rizal Memorial Stadium against the Cambodian Angkor Warriors when they meet tomorrow, Sunday, March 24, 2013.
The Cambodians were already defeated by Turkmenistan with a 0-7 scorecard last Friday and according to Azkals coach Weiss, the Warriors made some major defensive lapses during the game.
The game against Cambodia will be considered as a rematch after both teams have ended their match in a scoreless draw last September at Phnom Penh. The Philippines is expected to score this time against Cambodia even Coach Prak Sovannara admitted the strength of the Philippine line-up this time.
The Philippine Azkals will be fielding it’s strongest (–foul word(s) removed–)embled team ever which includes Stephan Schrock, Phil & James Younghusband, Chieffy Caligdong, Neil Etheridge, Ange and Juani Guirado and new round Filipino-Spanish striker Javier Patino.
The Philippine vs. Cambodia match will be aired on Studio 23 and Balls Channel starting at 7:00 PM with kick-off at 7:30 PM.
