A Good Samaritan, although he’s a PWD, gives free face masks amid the Taal volcano eruption
A Good Samaritan, who is a person with a disability (PWD), gave surgical face masks to motorists and passengers amid the Taal volcano eruption.
People who are showing good deeds in the midst of unfortunate events such as calamity or disaster deserve recognition. They are the ones who still chose to be kind and compassionate even though the situation is not also easy for them.
In the midst of this devastating time for the people in Taal and nearby cities, many became frustrated as some are hoarding face masks. Those who want to take advantage of this unfortunate situation are selling the masks at a much higher price than it should be.
As a protection to ashfall, the demand for face masks increased rapidly from Sunday afternoon. The Department of Health (DOH) already released an advisory regarding how to cope up with the incidents of ashfall. The health department also reminded the public of its possible health effects.
Despite reports of high-priced masks, a man chose to be a good samaritan. In the recent post of UNTV News on their official Twitter account, a man was featured in a video giving out face masks for free.
It can be noticed that the man is a PWD. However, despite his disability, he showed compassion to his fellow men. He would hand motorists and passengers the face masks even though it was not easy for him to walk normally. Because of this, a netizen called him “hero”.
The identity of the man in the video was not revealed in the post.
Here is the video.
