PAGASA – Northeast Monsoon To Bring Light Rains In Parts Of PH

PAGASA – Weather bureau PAGASA recently said that the northeast monsoon or amihan will bring light rains over areas of the Philippines.

The bureau elaborated that amihan will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon.

According to GMA News, the bureau further warned the public of gusty conditions that will possibly occur especially in mountainous or coastal areas.

Cloudy skies and scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone will be faced by Davao ragion and Soccsksargen. Residents, especially those in high risk areas are warned of flash floods or landslides that might occur during heavy rains.

As for Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Eastern Visayas, they will face cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon. Intermittent gusts might occur especially in mountainous and coastal areas.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Philippines will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods and landslides will possibly occur during severe thunderstorms

Based on the article, for the wind speed forecast, Northern Luzon, the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, Eastern Visayas will have strong winds moving northeastward with rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will have moderate to strong coastal winds moving in the northeast with moderate to rough coastal waters.
