Elizabeth Gokongwei Dies At The Age of 85
Elizabeth Gokongwei, the widow of the late billionaire John Gokongwei Jr. has already passed away at the age of 85.
Last November 9, 2019, Filipino billionaire businessman and philanthropist John Lim Gokongwei Jr. peacefully died at the age of 93 years old in Manila Doctor’s Hospital. The businessman founded JG Summit and Universal Robina Corp.
Gokongwei has a net worth of $5.8 billion as of November 9, according to Forbes. He was also ranked third in Forbes’ list of richest Filipinos in 2019. The billionaire’s children take over his businesses.
On Saturday (November 16, 2019), Elizabeth Yu Gokongwei has also passed away almost a week after her husband died. The widow died at the age of 85 years old and her wake will be held in private, according to her family.
“Our mother, Elizabeth Yu Gokongwei, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2019, one week after the death of our father, John Gokongwei, Jr., her husband of 61 years,” the family said.
