Authorities Arrest Manila Agency Storage Clerk for Stealing P2.5 Million
STORAGE CLERK – An employee of a manpower agency in Manila was arrested for stealing Php 2.5 million from the company.
One of the things that companies must consider in hiring people is the trustworthiness of a person. Most companies have a lot of financial matters which may not be a secret to most of its employees.
Hiring someone who cannot be trusted most especially in the face of money is a risk to the whole company. However, sadly, the trustworthiness of a person can be tested through time.
Recently, in Manila, a manpower agency lost a huge part of its fund after one of its employees stole it. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, P2.5 million was stolen by a storage clerk in a company based in Sampaloc, Manila.
The police authorities said that they received a complaint from the manpower agency that the money kept in their steel cabinet is missing. Also, the employees could not find the CCTV footage.
The suspect was identified as alyas Arvin. Based on the report, he was a new employee to the manpower agency and he works as a storage clerk. He admitted to stealing the missing Php 2.5 million in the steel cabinet.
According to Arvin, he stole the money from the cabinet and decided to leave Php 443,000.00. He forcefully opened the cabinet. The suspect has already spent a huge part of the stolen money.
According to him, he bought a cellphone, a motorcycle, and a car. Php 480,000.00 was left of the money and it was recovered by the authorities. The police were also able to retrieve the hard drive where the CCTV footage was saved.
Currently, alyas Arvin is detained at Manila Police District Station 4. He is set to face charges over qualified theft.
