President Duterte Goes Shopping W/ Honeylet During 4-Day Working Visit To Japan

DUTERTE – President Duterte and his wife Honeley Avanceña went shopping during 4-day working visit to Japan.

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is currently in Japan to speak for the 25th International Conference on The Future.

Unfortunately, Duterte won’t be able to meet the newly hailed Japanese Emperor Naruhito during his 4-day working visit in the country.

Philippine Ambassador to Japan, Jose Laurel V confirmed the news to the media last Tuesday, May 28.

“No one will see him — not even any one of the five that were invited to speak at Nikkei because Nikkei is a private affair.”

“You see the Japanese are very protocolar. They are very traditional. They actually choose who visits them,” he added.

On Thursday, President Duterte, his wife Honeylet Avanceña, and senator-elect Bong Go were spotted shopping in Tokyo.

Based on a report from GMA News, this is the 3rd visit of the Pinoy president in Japan since assuming office in 2016.

In 2018, Duterte was seen shopping with his wife and daughter Kitty shopping in Hong Kong. He got lots of criticism for shopping in that country.

According to the report, President Duterte’s former aide Bong Go bought clothed and gadgets. His wife Honeylet also purchased clothes and gadget for Kitty.

“Ito yung unang pagkakataon na nakaikot siya ng downtown sa Japan. Pumunta siya ng Uniqlo, yun naman ang paborito niyang damit, simpleng damit lang po.”

At pumunta siya doon sa Apple Store para pumili ata ng Apple Watch yata para sa anak niya o cellphone. Si Pangulo rin nagtingin ng computer, laptop dahil minsan doon po siya nagtatrabaho at minsan nanonood po siya ng mga palabras,” he added.
