President Duterte Declares June 5 As Holiday
Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said that President Rodrigo Duterte has declared June 5, 2019 as a holiday in observance of Eid’l Fitr.
On Wednesday (May 29, 2019), June 5 has been declared as a holiday for the observance of Eid’l Fitr or the culmination of the Fasting of Ramadan.
The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos suggested the declaration of June 5 as a national holiday in the Philippines.
Eid’l Fitr or also known as the “Festival of Breaking the Fast” is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims all around the world.
The holiday marks the end of “Ramadan” and celebrating the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting.
Malacañang Palace will soon release the copy of the proclamation confirming the declaration of the holiday.
