China government approves on Thursday the visit of Vice President Jejomar Binay to the three Filipino drug mules before the death execution on Monday February 21, 2011.
Vice President Binay was informed by the Philippine Emb(–foul word(s) removed–)y in Beijing regarding the decision of China government, said his spokesman.
The visit of Vice President Binay will avail the meeting on Saturday with the president of China’s Supreme People’s Court and to the Chinese executive Vice Foreign Minister, said the Department of Affairs (DFA).
Binay will be leaving for Beijing at 7:15 a.m. Friday.
The sentiment of President Benigno Aquino III and the Filipino people will be presented by the Vice President Binay hoping that Chinese government will take into serious consideration” said Alberto Romulo Secretary of Foreign Affairs.
Another benefits to avail of the visit is to reaffirm the Philippine-China intimate relationship and to come up common solution of both countries to properly and effectively address the drug menace, he said.
With all expectation Binay had been hopeful that Chinese leaders will be convinced to setback the death execution of the three Filipinos found guilty of drug smuggling in the mainland.
“If I had to consider my optimistic opinion, ‘baka pwede pa sa darating na araw’. Umasa pa tayo, baka pwede pa,” he said to the reporter during interview Thursday evening.
“The government is sometimes using informal channels to ask for a stay in the death execution,” he added.
“Hanggat’t di pa nangyayari ang death execution sa Lunes at Martes, sige lang, patuloy pa tayo at dagdagan pa natin ng dasal” he said.
In a text poll, out of 10,000 participated 71% agreed with the ruling while there are only 29% opposed it.
Majority of the TV Patrol news viewer believed that China is right in executing death to the three Filipino drug mules.
