John Lapus has this funny story about Chokoleit
Comedian John Lapus shared a funny story when he saw late comedian Chokoleit inside the coffin.
Several comedians in the Philippine entertainment industry had already paid tribute to Chokoleit.
Vice Ganda, Pokwang, Pooh, and K Brosas were among the first to visit his wake. However, John Lapus came to the venue before them because he wanted to make sure everything is in order.
“Kanina, ako ang unang dumating sa magkakaibigan. Kasi nga, gusto kong i-double check yung…” the comedian, who also known as Sweet, shared.
He also said that the before that he already talked to the people in-charge in make-up and outfit of the late comedian.
However, John said that he could not do his “emote” because when he saw Chokoleit inside the coffin.
He said, “Pagdating ko, chineck ko lang. Imbes na maiyak at ma-emote, natawa ako. Kasi yung mukha niya, medyo dumikit na sa salamin!”
Then, Sweet cited the usual story that happens to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) who died abroad.
“Ay! Ano ba ‘to?! Ang nasabi ko lang, ‘Ano ba ‘to? May pasalubong sa ilalim?’ Di ba, joke yun? May namatay na OFW. Yung anak niya, di makakauwi. So, yung bangkay na lang ang dinala sa Philippines, ‘tapos isinabay na yung mga pasalubong. Nasa ilalim ng bangkay,” John Lapus said.
The comedian also said, “Kaya noong binuksan yung ataul, nakadikit yung mukha ng bangkay sa salamin…Ganun siya kanina! So, talagang… hay! Apparently, mga foam-foam lang pala yun, pipitpitin lang nang konti para bumaba.”
Meanwhile, John shared that Chokoleit’s outfit is created by designer Bing Cristobal who is always the person behind the late comedian’s Star Magic Ball outfits, based on PEP’s report.
