PNP Says Daraga Mayor Baldo Appears Mastermind in “Slay” of AKO Bicol Rep. Batocabe
BATOCABE – The Philippine National Police (PNP) expressed that Daraga Mayor Carlwyn Baldo appears as the mastermind in the “slay” of AKO Bicol Representative Rodel Batocabe.
Recently, the family, relatives, friends, and supporters of AKO Bicol Rep. Rodel Batocabe were left sad and grieving over his unexpected death. He was attacked and shot by at least six unidentified people on December 22, 2018.
The AKO Bicol Representative was distributing Christmas gifts in his hometown in Daraga when the attack happened.
The incident led to the death of Batocabe. His family, relatives, friends, and supporters want justice for his death.
The authorities looked into the possibility that the New People’s Army (NPA) is behind the incident or it is politically motivated. He is one of the candidates for Daraga Mayor in the 2019 Midterm Elections.
Recently, based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, the PNP revealed its findings on the case.
According to PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde, it appears that Daraga Mayor Carlwyn Baldo is the mastermind of the Batocabe “slay”.
According to Albayalde, it appeared that Baldo hired seven(7) people to attack the late AKO Bicol Representative. Based on the report, the PNP Chief said that the hired people were allegedly paid Php 5,000,000.00.
Based on another report from ABS-CBN News, speaking to Karen Davila in ANC Headstart, the late AKO Bicol Representative’s son Justin expressed that they are not leaving politics despite the incident.
According to him, they are staying to show that they are strong and are still ready to serve and give everything to the people.
With regards to the candidacy of the late AKO Bicol Representative, the first option is Justin’s mom Gertie but she is currently in the state of grieving. According to him, another “viable option” is his father’s brother.
Based on the report, the son of the late lawmaker is the second nominee of AKO-Bicol so he cannot be the one to take the place of his father’s candidacy in Daraga.
As of this writing, Daraga Mayor Carlwyn Baldo has yet to release an official statement over the findings of the PNP on the “slay” of AKO Bicol Rep. Rodel Batocabe.
