Batanes Affected By Bad Weather Caused By Tropical Depression Neneng

TROPICAL DEPRESSION NENENG – Certain areas in Batanes were affected due to the bad weather condition caused by tropical depression Neneng.

Based on the report, the said tropical depression last spotted at 120 kilometers of North of Basco, Batanes, which is under signal no. 1. Neneng has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 60 kph moving 10 kph south-southwest.

The weather disturbance brought occasional rains with gusty winds over Batanes and moderate to occasionally heavy rains over the Babuyan Group of islands.

Elsewhere, Ilocos Norte and Apayao experienced scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

The tropical depression may have left the Philippine Area of Responsibility today (September 11), but it has dealt damage to areas mainly in Batanes.

Batanes Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office uploaded photos of the aftermath, which was later posted on a report in ABS-CBN news.

In Ivana National Highschool located in Ivana, there was a landslide.

Meanwhilw, in Basco Central School, the classrooms were filled with flood.

Elsewhere in Uyugan, there was another landslide at Barangay Imnajbu.

As per the report, lastly, creeks were overflowing due to intense rainfall.
