Manny Pacquiao Believes Gilas Pilipinas Should Have Shown Humility
MANNY PACQUIAO – Boxer-turned-politician Senator Manny Pacquiao earned criticisms over his comment on the controversial brawl involving the basketball players of Philippines-Australia qualifying match for FIBA World Cup.
The people are undeniably divided when it comes to opinions over the controversial brawl. According to a report, it unexpectedly happened during the FIBA World Cup qualifying match between the Philippines’ Gilas Pilipinas and Australia’s Boomers.
With regards to the reaction of the Filipino people, there are those who believe that Gilas players have behaved inappropriately considering that the Australians are visitors in the Philippines. On the other side, there are those who defended the action of the team and stressed that Boomers were not innocent in the brawl.
Based on a report, boxing champ Sen. Manny Pacquiao is among those who believe that Filipinos should have shown passion and humility as incidents like it cannot be avoided.
Based on a recent report on Bandera, Sen. Manny Pacquiao’s comment on the Philippines-Australia basketball brawl has earned him criticisms from other people.
Reportedly, the boxer-turned-politician is accused of not knowing about “team play” as he fights alone inside the boxing ring whenever he has a match. One netizen also raised that the Australians called the Filipino basketball players monkey.
“Tawagin ba namang unggoy ng mga Australyano ang Team Pilipinas, tama ba ‘yun? Hindi ba aalsa ang mga Pinoy players sa panglalait sa kanila ng mga dayuhan?”
Based on the report, one netizen questioned why Sen. Manny Pacquiao was talking about humility and respect considering the negative statements heard by the Filipino players from the Australians.
