Filipino People To Experience Longer Days After This Phenomena On March 21
The state weather bureau PAGASA announced that Filipino people were set to experience longer days after the vernal equinox on March 21, 2018.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that the Philippines will have longer days and shorter nights after the vernal equinox.
The vernal equinox marks the start of spring in the northern hemisphere including the Philippines and autumn in the southern hemisphere.
PAGASA explained that night and day have the same length on the same latitude in both hemispheres during the equinox, which means ‘equal’.
The weather bureau said that the daylight hours would be longer after the vernal equinox, but it was not yet the start of the summer despite the increasing temperature in the country.
Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Ilocos region were expected to experience cloudy skies with light rains due to northeast monsoon.
While Metro Manila and the rest of country would have hot weather with isolated rain showers because of localized thunderstorms.
However, PAGASA said that they declare the start of summer this month once the easterlies become the dominant weather condition in the Philippines.
