El Shaddai founder Bro. Mike Velarde’s commercial building in Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City was caught on fire, which lasts for over 4 hours.

Around 1 am on Saturday (January 13, 2018), the commercial building owned by the El Shaddai leader Brother Mike Velarde was caught on fire.

Supt. Robert Pasis of Bureau of Fire Protection said that the fire has started in a grocery on Saturday early morning.

The fire damage cost is reaching over P2 million, but there are no casualties recorded due to the incident as of this writing.

Velarde said that the commercial building with an area of 40, 000 square meters is amounting P40 million.  About 100 tenants were renting and working in different establishments inside the building such as grocery, electronics store, canteen, offices, and events place.

The El Shaddai leader only learned that his building is already on fire when his wife told him via phone call.

The building security guard Rodante Dela Cruz said that he heard some explosions and some noise before 1 a.m. At first, he thought that thieves entered the establishment so he pulled out his gun and roam the area.

Dela Cruz was shocked when he saw the burning establishment, but luckily the tenants inside immediately leave when the fire has started.

Pasis said that the firefighters find it hard to put off the fire due to the debris, steels, and flammable materials in the establishment. He also said that the owner might be liable for the incident for the building do not have a sprinkler system.
