Here are some of the strong statements from celebrities over the controversial comment of Joey de Leon.

JOEY DE LEON – Here are the brave and strong statements from some of your favorite celebrities over the controversial stand of Joey de Leon about depression.

It was on October 5 episode of the segment Juan For All, All For Juan of the Kapuso network’s longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga! when the veteran comedian, host, and actor Joey de Leon uttered a controversial comment on depression.

It all started when the winner of the Sugod Bahay stated that her mother was diagnosed because of depression.

But the comedian objected the thought said, “Yung depression, gawa-gawa lang ng mga tao ‘yan. Gawa lang nila sa sarili nila.”

Yet, the phenomenal actress Maine Mendoza opposes what the veteran male host just said.

Maine indicated, “Hindi siya joke. Kasi maraming nakakaranas nun, lalo na sa mga kabataan. Kaya dapat, kung mayroong nakakaranas ng ganun, bigyan natin ng suporta.”

To which was agreed by Alden Richards, the love partner on the screen of Maine, as he indicated that people at such cases needed “moral support.”

But Joey de Leon insisted, “Hindi, huwag niyo suportahan, gawa-gawa lang niya yun. Wala, nagpapasosyal lang. Kapag mayaman, depression. Kapag mahirap, wala, wala kang pag-asa sa buhay.”

Thus, this statement gathered numerous criticisms from the people of the social media community and from their fellow celebrities as well.
