Kian Loyd Delos Santos’ Parents Face Policemen Tagged in Son’s Killing

The parents of Kian Loyd Delos Santos, the teen killed in an alleged anti-illegal drugs operation in Caloocan City, face the three police officers tagged in their son’s killing.

Lorenza Delos Santos, the mother of Kian who’s an overseas worker rushed home following the report of her son’s slain.

The 17-year-old Grade 11 student has been accused as a drug courier.

According to Kian’s mother, he was a good boy who respected the elderly and the authorities.

“Kahit po kami mahirap, isa lang po ang sinasabi ko, na lumaking matapat, may takot sa Diyos at may respeto sa matatanda,” she said.

On the other hand, Zaldy Delos Santos, Kian’s father detailed how Kian would help his parents.

He said during the Senate hearing that Kian wanted to become a policeman someday. Zaldy noted that his son was a big fan of top-rating ABS-CBN series, “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”

“Sa isang saglit lang, kinuha niyo ang buhay,” Kian’s father told PO3 Arnel Oares, PO1 Jerwin Cruz, and PO1 Jeremias Pereda, the policemen tagged in his son’s killing.

Meanwhile, the death of the 17-year-old student is currently hitting national headlines as evidence and accounts surfaced.

Kian Loyd Delos Santos was killed in a “one-time big-time operation” in Barangay 160 in Caloocan City late Wednesday, August 16.

Authorities claimed that the minor drew his firearm and “directly shot” at the police, which prodded Police Officer 3 Arnel Oares to fire back, and apparently kill the student.

According to a report published by CNN Philippines, the police officer fired at the Grade 11 student “to prevent and repel the unlawful aggression as their lives were in imminent danger.”
