Parojinog siblings get to be denied to attend the wake of their parents.
The Parojinog siblings’ plea and appeal to attend the wake of their parents were denied by Executive Judge Edmundo Pintac of Ozamiz City Regional Trial Court Branch 15.
According to the report released by the ABS-CBN News, due to security reasons, the local court denied the plea.
The appeal of Vice Mayor Nova Parojinog and brother Reynaldo Parojinog Jr. to attend the wake of their parents was dismissed.
It was Executive Judge Edmundo Pintac of Ozamiz City Regional Trial Court Branch 15 who rejected the urgent motion for the furlough as filed by the Parojinog siblings.
The opposition is based on the “grounds that the accused-movants are high-security risk detainees as classified by PNP-CIDG considering among other things, their power and political influence.”
Furthermore, another reason that has been considered which did not allow them to attend the burial of their parents is that the “accused-movants have supporters that will pose imminent threat to them and their police and security escorts.”
Their parents are Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo “Aldong” Parojinog and his wife Susan was killed during the bloody raid of the authorities on the early dawn of July 30.
Along with their deaths are also the fall of other 11 people including Aldong’s brother, the Misamis Occidental Board member Octavio Parojinog Jr.
Even before the raid, President Rodrigo Duterte himself pointed out this clan is linked to the illegal drug raid.
The late mayor and his daughter, the vice mayor were facing graft charges due to the “allegedly anomalous contract for the building of a public gymnasium.”
Accordingly, the raid wasn’t supposed to be bloody for the authorities only had a search warrant but they were welcomed by violent resistance.
Currently, the Parojinog siblings are detained at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
