Authorities Barred 4 Suspicious Men From Marawi City From Leaving Philippines

The authorities barred 4 suspicious men from Marawi City at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport 3 from leaving the Philippines.

On Monday afternoon (July 10, 2017), four Pakistan-bound men were scheduled to depart for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, but the authorities barred them from living the country after they have noticed something unusual.

The authorities blocked the four passengers when the immigration officers noticed their newly issued Pakistani visas on their passports. The men explained that they are a tourist bound for vacation, but they have failed to present their travel documents.

The initial result of the investigation shows that the passengers are all from Marawi City and claiming to be vacation-bound for Malaysia. The four men have also failed to produce airline onward tickets to Pakistan from Malaysia.

The same incident involving 7 passengers suspected linked to the Maute Terror Group were also barred at NAIA on Monday.

All passengers with questionable travel documents are subject to secondary interview based on the standard operating procedure of the airport, according to Red Marinas, head of the immigration port operations division.

The suspicious men were prohibited from flying to Kuala Lumpur after they have failed on the secondary interview.

The other law enforcers at the airport were also informed by Marinas regarding the identity of the four passengers due to the failure of presenting written derogatory information and other documents.
