Senator Hontiveros Called By Public As Accountable For Missing P1.7 Billion Philhealth Funds
Senator Risa Hontiveros was trying to clear her name for previous mistakes, but the public calls her accountable for the missing P1.7 billion Philhealth funds.
Previously, Senator Risa Hontiveros has become the headlines of countless news outlets nationwide after the fake news came out accusing her of funding and supporting the Maute Terror Group to attack Marawi City.
The senator is now trying to cleanse her name by releasing her supportive statement for Marawi City, but the public still calls her accountability on the missing P1.7 billion Philhealth funds, which was given as bonuses during her term as board member.
Hontiveros was cleaning her name by issuing supportive and sympathetic statements for the residents of the beleaguered city. She also urged the public to stop discrimination and not to stoke flames of Islamophobia.
“This is the time for unity and solidarity. Amid these challenging times, we should not give in to our fears and prejudice. Let us not play into the script of the Maute terrorists, who want to sow fear and hate between Christians and Muslims,” said by Hontiveros.
Atty. Paula Defensor Knack, an international law expert and the system of late Miriam-Defensor-Santiago said that Hontiveros’ actions were just a “Paawa Effect.” Knack also revealed that Hontiveros name was included on the masterminds of ousting President Duterte.
Knack also said that Hontiveros could not answer the P1.76 billion bonus, which was allegedly taken from the Philhealth funds.
