Resorts World Manila Shooting Incident Due To Robbery Not Terrorism

Gunman of the shooting incident in Resorts World Manila has the intention of robbery not terrorism.

ROBBERY – The shooting incident at the popular leisure complex Resorts World Manila is due to stealing and not terrorism.

According to the interview of a broadcaster from ANC (video was on Youtube Channel ABS-CBN News) with the chairman of the Overseas Security Advisory Council Steve Cutler, gunman of RWM intends robbery and not terrorism.

The attack on Friday morning that climbed up to 38 dead people and hurt 67 individuals has no indications of any terrorism says the chairman to ANC.

He further even added, “We have someone who shot up property, could have easily killed many people with a firearm, such as what the terrorists did in Mumbai, India a few years ago when they took over a hotel, and he didn’t. So I agree with the police in this.”

Another thing that according to them is proving that the assailant is not a terrorist is when he took his own life by burning himself to death and yet was able to prevent the fire from spreading.

Cutler speculated that the suspect must have been in great debt as he was so ‘desperate’ to do such act of robbery in the casino and it might have been his only option to get out from his dilemma.

He also stated that the procedures in firefighting and fire escape will be revisited.

“When I ask these questions I’m not being critical, but where were the fire exits in an active shooter type situation as this was? Wouldn’t it have been better to go out of the fire exits instead of seeking shelter inside of a lady’s room where most of the bodies were found because of the toxic smoke?” he said.

Cutler is hoping that he is hoping to work with the guard forces for them to have a practice as to how to  deal with this kind of rare major events yet costs lives of a lot of people if not handled correctly.
