Nanay Cora First Time To Celebrate Birthday After 60 Years
A senior citizen from Artex, Malabon called as Nanay Cora celebrates her birthday for the first time in 60 years due to costly living in the compound.
Most people have already experience to celebrate their birthday since they were born up to their present age, but sometimes people can’t celebrate their birthdays due to different reasons such as financial problems, hectic schedules, and difficult situation.
The official Facebook page of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has posted a video of a senior citizen named Cora Bascon or known as Nanay Cora has not celebrated her birthday for over 60 years, because of their difficult and costly living in Artex, Malabon.
Artex compound in Malabon City is known as the “Venice of the Philippines.” The heavy rain in early 90’s submerged the town in floodwaters, which have not receded in over 20 years. The residents were already used to this kind of living situation.
Cora Bascon, who will turn 69-year-old has been already a resident of Artex compound for 47 years. Nanay Cora lost her mother when she was only 8-year-old, which was the last time she celebrated her birthday.
KFC has recently launched “The Amphibious Delivery,” which enable its staff and crews to deliver fried chicken in Artex compound. The popular fast food chain has surprised Nanay Cora bringing a banner with writings “Happy Birthday Nanay Cora” and KFC fried chicken.
Nanay Cora has expressed his gratitude towards KFC for their efforts. “hindi ko akalain na may magdedeliver dito, kasi wala naming nakakapunta dito,” said by Nanay Cora.
The popular fast food chain has also extended the celebration by giving free fried chicken for the resident who couldn’t leave their homes due to health issues such as stroke and blindness.
