Rommel Padilla talked about the political stance of Daniel Padilla
Former actor Rommel Padilla revealed that his son, Supreme Idol Daniel Padilla, and Queen Mother Karla Estrada had a political clash in the past.
Rommel and Karla are both active in the political scene, aside from being showbiz personalities. They were vocal about the politicians and groups that they supported in the last elections. They also actively campaigned for those they had supported.
On the other hand, their son, Daniel, has a different political affiliation. In the 2022 elections, the Supreme Idol showed support for former Vice President Leni Robredo for the presidency, while Rommel and Karla rallied behind the UniTeam of the winning tandem of President Bongbong Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte.
In a recent interview on the YouTube channel of talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz, Rommel Padilla was asked about his son’s political beliefs.
Ogie said that he has not heard anything from Daniel commenting about politics. He wondered if Rommel has told his son not to say anything about this topic.
Rommel said that he is not hindering Daniel from speaking. The former actor stressed that his son is just quiet. Then, Rommel pointed out the fact that they have different political beliefs. He also pointed out that they never argued about this, and they never tried to convince each other to believe what the other one believes.
With this, Ogie pointed out that what reigns between the father and the son is respect for each other. “Kapag nagkikita kami niyan, hangga’t maaari, hindi namin mapag-usapan yung politika,” Rommel shared.
Ogie added, “Kasi maaaring pag-awayan niyo.” Then, Rommel said that it was actually Daniel’s mother.
“Mama niya yun (laughs), Karla, hello!” Rommel said laughingly while waving his hand as if saying “hi” to his ex-partner. “Ito ikukuwento ko lang. Tumawag sa akin si Karla, ‘ano ba yang anak mo! Magaling sa politika, mas magaling pa sa akin!'” Rommel Padilla shared about the past political clash between Daniel Padilla and Karla Estrada.
