Couple Pushes Wedding Despite Deep Floodwaters in Bulacan
A couple went viral after deep floodwaters failed to stop their wedding at St. John the Baptist Parish in Hagonoy, Bulacan.
Recently, the Facebook page Ang Tinig – St. John the Baptist Parish Hagonoy, Bulacan shared photos of the couple getting married despite the flooding in the area. The post quickly went viral and received various reactions from netizens online.
On Tuesday (September 1, 2026), the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Chico took place at St. John the Baptist Parish in Hagonoy, Bulacan. While many events in the area were affected by continuous rains and flooding, the couple remained determined to exchange their vows on their scheduled wedding day.

The photos showed the bride and groom making their way through floodwaters to reach the altar and celebrate one of the most important moments of their lives.
According to the parish, church officials initially suggested postponing the ceremony because of the severe flooding in the area. However, the couple decided to continue with their wedding despite the difficult conditions.
To make it easier to move through the water, the bride had her wedding gown shortened, so it would not get in the way as she walked down what many described as a water-filled aisle. The unusual setting added a memorable and emotional touch to the ceremony.

The challenges did not stop there. A power outage affected the church, making the regular sound system unusable. Instead, the parish used a portable speaker so the ceremony could continue without interruption.
Bulacan has been heavily affected by days of continuous rainfall, causing floods in several communities. Despite these difficulties, the wedding became a symbol of perseverance and dedication.

Their wedding served as a reminder that while circumstances may not always be perfect, determination and commitment can help people move forward even during the most challenging situations.
