Dustin Yu Opens Up About the Health Benefits of His Cosmetic Procedure
DUSTIN YU – Despite constant criticism from bashers, Dustin Yu remains unapologetic about undergoing rhinoplasty, saying the procedure brought positive changes to both his life and well-being.
Dustin Yu has once again addressed the public’s curiosity about his rhinoplasty, explaining that the procedure not only improved his appearance but also benefited his overall health and confidence.
The Kapuso actor has never denied undergoing rhinoplasty and has always been open about his decision to enhance his nose. Despite his honesty, Dustin continues to receive criticism from online bashers who frequently bring up his cosmetic procedure whenever he is in the spotlight.
The topic resurfaced during Dustin’s guest appearance with Bianca de Vera on the July 16 episode of Fast Talk With Boy Abunda. During the interview, host Boy Abunda asked the pair about the public’s fascination with cosmetic enhancements.
“How do you explain this? Is that a big deal? In Korea, big deal yata ang walang retoke?” Tito Boy asked Dustin and Bianca.
Before Dustin answered, Bianca, who has been romantically linked to the actor, shared her thoughts on the issue. She stressed that personal choices regarding one’s appearance should never be judged by others.
“Well, for me, it’s not a big deal. Like, whatever makes you feel confident or whatever makes you feel happy, it’s your body,” Bianca said.
She added, “And it’s your choice kung anuman yung gusto mong gawin, buhay mo naman yan.”
Dustin agreed with Bianca’s perspective, emphasizing that he sees nothing wrong with improving one’s appearance, especially if it contributes to better self-esteem. According to the actor, his decision has also been met with many encouraging and positive comments from supporters who appreciated his openness.
“Well, wala talagang masama sa pag-e-enhance kasi kung makakatulong naman yon sa pag-boost ng confidence mo,” Dustin said.
He further revealed that his rhinoplasty was not solely for aesthetic reasons but was also recommended to address a medical condition.
“And sa akin naman, personally, ginawa ko siya for my health concern and umokey naman siya. Sabi naman ng mommy ko, pogi raw ako.”
Dustin first underwent rhinoplasty in 2022. While staying inside the Pinoy Big Brother house, he also shared that he had been dealing with sleep apnea. According to the actor, the procedure significantly helped improve his condition, allowing him to breathe better and easing the health issue that had affected him before.
By openly discussing both the cosmetic and medical reasons behind his rhinoplasty, Dustin hopes to encourage people to respect personal decisions and understand that such procedures can go beyond physical appearance, offering both health benefits and renewed confidence.
