Joshua Garcia had this statement about his career
Kapamilya actor Joshua Garcia stressed that he will never reach the status of A-list star John Lloyd Cruz as an actor.
JLC is one of the most prominent stars of his generation. With his acting prowess, his name is a concrete entity in showbiz. Many actors from the younger generation have expressed their admiration for him.
Joshua is one of those younger stars who look up to John Lloyd as an actor. However, in a recent statement, based on the article in Abante, Joshua expressed that he would never have the achievements that John Lloyd had in his career.
During an interview on the Oh My Gan online show, Joshua Garcia was asked about being compared to John Lloyd Cruz. The younger actor admitted that he is flattered by this.
“Siyempre, nakakataba ng puso ba, pero wala, eh. Hindi ko mapapantayan ‘yon, ‘di ba?” Joshua shared.
On the other hand, he said that compared to JLC, his caliber would not reach the older actor’s status. “Saka wala pa ako sa kalingkingan ng mga nagawa niyang pelikula,” the Kapamilya actor said.
When the show’s host, Ganiel Krishnan, mentioned that Joshua’s nuances in acting are the same as John Lloyd’s, the younger actor quipped about this and said, “Kasi parati n’yong sinasabi na kamukha ko, ‘yan tuloy, nahahawa na ‘ko.”
However, Joshua admitted that John Lloyd is his “idol.” He would meet JLC at parties and that starstruck feeling has always been there.
When asked if John Lloyd is aware that he is being compared to him, Joshua said that he feels that the older actor is aware about this.
Joshua Garcia shared that he would see in interviews that John Lloyd Cruz would mention about this. “Feeling ko alam niya, kasi may nakita ako na mga interviews niya na rin na sinasabi ‘yon. Pero parang sabi niya, parang ‘Si Joshua ay si Joshua,’ something like that,” he said.
With all he has achieved from being a housemate in the Pinoy Big Brother house, Joshua said that he does not consider himself a big star, instead, he just said, “Sakto lang.”
